Hi, my name is Dmitri, and I'm the blacksmith behind the forge. I’ve always been passionate about building things. When I was a kid, I would break rocks and play with sticks. When I learned about blacksmithing, I was all for it! I studied every chance I got for about 10 years before I became a smith in 2020. It didn’t matter where I lived or if I was supposed to be doing homework, blacksmithing became my passion. While my family is from Russia, we moved around all the time after we got to the states because my dad was a soldier. Today, I call Maryland my home. Here, I continue to hone my craft and create unique pieces that blend functionality with artistic expression. I started blacksmithing when I was 15. I mostly forged arrowheads and tools in the beginning. After that, I was hooked!
